Configuring AZURE Credentials Using Credential Manager

This article explains how to configure your Microsoft Azure credentials within the Strobes platform using Credential Manager. This integration enables secure access to Azure cloud resources for asset and vulnerability syncing.

Steps to Configure Azure Credentials in Strobes

Step 1: Navigate to Credential Manager

  1. Log in to your Strobes dashboard.
  2. Go to the Settings tab on the left menu.
  3. Click on Credential Manager.

Step 2: Add a New Credential

  1. Click on the Add Credential button.
  2. From the connector list, select Azure.

Step 3: Enter Azure Configuration Details

Fill in the required information in the form:

  • Name: A user-friendly name for your configuration (e.g., "Azure - Prod Environment").
  • Client ID: The Application (client) ID from Azure.
  • Client Secret: The value generated under your Azure App’s secrets.
  • Tenant ID: The Directory (tenant) ID.
  • Subscription ID: The Azure subscription you want to connect to.

Note:  Make sure the App Registration has necessary API permissions and role assignments for the required Azure services.

Step 4: Save Your Configuration

  • After entering all the details, click on Save.
  • Your Azure credentials will now be securely stored in the platform and ready for use in connectors like Azure Cloud Inventory, Defender for Cloud, etc.

Important Notes

  • Security Best Practice: Rotate secrets periodically and remove stale credentials from the Credential Manager.
  • Multi-Environment Support: You can create multiple Azure credential profiles to manage different subscriptions (e.g., Dev, QA, Prod).
  • Credentials configured here can be reused across connectors without having to re-enter them.
