Strobes Credits power your pentesting operations on the Strobes platform. Whether you're running a quick retest or planning a large-scale security assessment, credits offer the flexibility to schedule pentesting on your terms.

What Are Strobes Credits?

Strobes Credit = 8 Pentesting Hours

Think of a Strobes Credit as a virtual token that represents 8 hours of professional pentesting. These credits allow you to launch security assessments without the complexity of traditional scoping or contracting processes.

Credits are part of our Pentesting-as-a-Service (PTaaS) model and are available under three subscription tiers to match different budgets and security goals. Learn more about our plans on the Pricing Page.

How the Credit System Works

Strobes uses a flexible, on-demand consumption model. You purchase Strobes Credits annually and use them throughout the year based on your organization’s testing requirements.

• Credits can be applied to different types of pentests (web apps, APIs, networks, etc.).
• The number of credits required depends on the scope, complexity, and duration of the test.
• Credits are valid for the duration of your subscription (typically 12 months).

How to View and Track Your Credits

To monitor how your organization is using its credits:

1. Login to your Strobes account.
2. From the main dashboard, navigate to:
    Sidebar Menu → PTaaS → Strobes Credits
3. Here, you can:
   
   • View your current credit balance
   • See a breakdown of how credits have been consumed over time
   • Track credit usage by project or assessment

How to Purchase More Credits

If you’re running low on credits or planning a large assessment, you can top up easily.

Option 1: Contact Support

• Reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or email us at help@strobes.co

Option 2: Purchase from the Platform

1. Log into your Strobes dashboard
2. Navigate to: Strobes Credits
3. Click “Add Strobes Credits”
4. Confirm the request in the popup overlay

After your purchase:

• New credits will appear on your Strobes Credits page once your updated subscription starts.
• Credits won’t be available before the new subscription start date. If you need early access, please reach out to your CSM.

Tips for Effective Credit Management

• Plan ahead: Allocate credits monthly or quarterly based on your internal release cycles or compliance mandates.
• Avoid last-minute usage: Schedule pentests in advance to ensure availability of testers and optimal use of credits.
• Optimize scope: Collaborate with your CSM to scope tests efficiently and avoid credit waste.
