What are linked assets?

In Strobes, you can link multiple related assets, such as APIs, servers, and databases to treat them as part of a single application or service. This gives you a combined, or agglomerated, risk score across all linked assets. It’s a helpful way to view the overall security posture of a system rather than evaluating each asset in isolation.

When it will be useful?

Say you have a web application for which you have multiple assets such as the app itself, its API service, app server, DB server, etc. Here, you would like to get an overall risk score of your web application and not of an individual asset. In such a case, linking all these relative assets comes into play.

How to link assets?

  • Navigate to the Assets page, click on your asset and scroll down a little to find the Linked Assets card.

  • Click on the Link Assets button, select the assets that you want to link, and click Select.
